Israel Center for International Cooperation (MASHAV) help palestinian businesswomen
Deputy Foreign Minister Daniel Ayalon opened a special seminar on 19th of August 2009 for Israeli and Palestinian businesswomen. The seminar, Women Making Business, was organized by MASHAV, Israel’s National Agency for International Cooperation, in cooperation with the Israeli-Palestinian Chamber of Commerce, to train Palestinian women in the field of entrepreneurship.
Deputy FM Ayalon welcomed the participants and told them that women have the power and the ability to influence and to change society. He added that Israelis and Palestinians can be partners not only in peace but also in economic development. Ayalon reviewed the government’s activities in improving the lives of the Palestinians and called on the Arab world to invest money in Palestinian economic development.
As part of the ongoing activities of the Golda Meir Mount Carmel International Training Center -photo- in Haifa, an extension of MASHAV, which specializes in women empowerment, early childhood education, and small businesses, hold special seminars for Israeli and Palestinian women under the title, “Women Build a New Reality.” Since 2004, 17 seminars have been conducted, with the participation of more than 500 Palestinian women.
